Entry qualification | Undergraduate / Bachelor diploma (or higher) Entry requirements Applicants must hold a university bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent college degree) in the fields listed below. Full credit acknowledgement is only given for a Bachelor’s degree in German Studies, Specialized in Scandinavian Studies. In case of any other degree, each diploma will be considered individually. The applicant must have at least 50 credits in the field of Scandinavian studies (Linguistics, Literature and Culture) to enter the programme. Transcripts from your bachelor’s degree as well as course descriptions will be requested. The educational and outcome requirements are defined by the Ministry of Human Capacities, Regulation No. 18/2016. (VIII. 5.). Details of the application and admission process are defined by the Organisational and Operational Regulations of ELTE. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Language certificate (advanced level) in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish languages (level of C1 referred to EU). You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. Important Information: Bear in mind that providing us with your personal data (name, mother’s name, email, passport number, etc.) is your responsibility and yours only. We cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by incomplete, misspelled or false data (re-issuing a letter of acceptance may take considerable time). |

Overview
Short description
Students of Scandinavian Studies will be able to acquire wide-ranging education, different skills and competences during their studies. The program provides courses in the liberal arts, special Scandinavian and philological studies, language skills development at a higher level, and special seminars on Scandinavian languages and cultures. Students will gain comprehensive cultural, historical and literary knowledge regarding the whole region of Scandinavia and especially a chosen Scandinavian language/country. In the scope of the Master course, students have a choice of specializations in linguistics and philology based on core studies, and preparation for possible academic fields.
Strength of program
The Master program aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge as a philological discipline (linguistic, literary and cultural studies) of Scandinavia to graduates who will thus be familiar with the fields and methods of academic research and be able to meet the requirements of the PhD program. Note that the program does not offer teaching qualifications.
